Not every home inspector joins one of the national organizations, such as the International National Association of Certified Home Inspectors (InterNachi), just as not every state requires licensure. However, any time there are standards, both the public and the inspectors who work for them have a more uniform and reliable code to live by. It creates continuity, which cultivates Integrity, Respect, Responsibility, Commitment, Excellence, Professionalism. Without all these characteristics your Home Inspector can fail you because he lacks character of heart. Which could translate to a bad inspection.
