Termites & Why hire me
1) ONLY an Inspector licensed in the state of Ohio with a WDI license can inspect your home for termites.
My Ohio License ID#110538
2) Home Owners hire me for 2nd opinions, when Termite Companies quote large treament prices, just because the home has signs of Termites, but no visable Termites. I check for visable signs. No visible signs no treatment needed.
3) My Termite Inspection is included with your basic Home Inspection
What Sets Me Apart from other Home Inspectors?
"My Equipment" all WDI(Wood Destroying Insect) Inspectors are bond by the same standards set by Ohio. That is to inform you on a NPMA 33 Form whether or not they have seen signs of Termites and to recommend or not recommend treatment. Most Home Inspectors upon seeing signs of termites will recommend further treatment or inspection by a Termite Company.
Not Me! as your Home Inspector & Termite Inspector upon seeing signs of termites I will then tell you whether or not the nest is active or inactive. How do I do that?
As I said "My Equipment" When signs of Termites exist, I then use a tool called a TDS (Termite Detection System) The TDS consists of a carbon dioxide (CO2) portable detector attached to an air pump, which is combined with a filtered probe. The probe can be used to pierce the sheet rock wall on the inside of a building and the air pump draws out an air sample that is passed to the carbon dioxide detector. A passive reading is taken in the house first and used as a calibration. Any increase above the control reading indicates an active termite infestation. This system detects active termites. 100%. The Next Step "Thermal Imaging"
Thermal imaging technology detects heat patterns. When termites invade buildings, the normal heat patterns of the walls, floors and roof are changed due to the presence of termites. The thermal camera records this change in heat patterns and indicates the exact location of any termite infestation. A color image shows hot spots as red or yellow and cold spots as blue or purple and these heat patterns indicate termite infestation.
Thermal Imaging along with the TDS and other cool tools is what sets me apart from other Home Inspectors.
